At your home! In your backyard! You don’t need to go anywhere to get a good exercise. Simply having a space to move around is all you need and best of all you do not need to spend money on gym or exercise equipment (Although a rubber or floor exercise mat is recommended).
Simply go to youtube and try searching for something like “30 minute cardio” to get started. Other things you can try searching for on youtube are the following:
Depending on your level of fitness, age, mobility etc you can determine what is the best type of workout for you. Either way, the key is to get your body moving, heart pumping, and blood circulating.
Start low and build up #
That’s right, if you haven’t exercised in months or years, starting with even a 10 minute or 15 minute workout is highly suggested. Starting with a 10 minute workout each day for 2 or 3 days, then advancing to a 15 minute workout for another 2 or 3 days, then adding another 5 minutes and doing a 20 minute workout for another 2 or 3 days is a great way to slowly build endurance needed to eventually complete 30 or 45 minute workouts. Do not go to hard or fast or you will burn out!
Jogging is awesome and the best way to start #
Jogging is such an awesome way to exercise, burn calories and feel great. You will feel so incredible when you complete your first mile. Eventually your 2nd, and your 3rd! And even more if you want. One of the best ways to start running is by following the “Couch to 5k Program” and it really, really works.
Basically you start off slow and each jogging session (3 times a week) it builds up a little more and more. The idea is that at the end of 3 months you will be jogging 5k (3 miles). This is a tried and true program that I can attest works and it feels so freaking amazing to jog 1 mile, 2 miles, and eventually 3 miles. (Remember these ideas are for general health and well being fitness and not meant to prepare you for a marathon)
Look for the app! #
On the google play store or Itunes store search for “Couch to 5k” or “C25k” to see the amazing apps that build around this routine. And best of all you can listen to music while jogging and the app will give your prompts automatically on when to start or stop jogging.
